investigation, after the court read them out. Each witness testified that in February and early March they saw an unknown car with unknown people next to the Petrovs’ house.

Witness Bidenko testified that on the night of March 10 she was outside on the street and heard something that sounded like three shots; she didn’t see any cars or people at that moment. Before that, in mid-January and late February, she saw on the street an unknown car; there were two guys in it.

Bidenko confirmed the above testimony at trial.

Witnesses Golenko, Kazalupov, Barchukov, and Bidenko’s family confirmed the above testimony of witness Bidenko.

Witness Yolkin testified both to the investigation and to the court that on March 10, he arrived to the premises as member of the emergency crew of the Kedron security firm. The emergency button on the premises had been pushed at about 21 hours and the owner’s corpse had been found in the courtyard. They could not promptly find or arrest the perpetrators.

Witness Myshkin confirmed Yolkin’s testimony.

Witness Polyansky confirmed his following testimony after it was read out in court. At the end of July he had purchased a 1994 white car, which he crashed on November 10. He took it to an auto shop, where he met Pervushin and sold him the car in a state of disrepair. They did not formalize the deal.

Victim Pyzhov testified in this regard that Pervushin sold Polyansky’s broken car to Bublik. Pyzhov was the middleman.

Victim Pyzhov refused to testify in court.

Witness Bublik testified that he made arrangements with Pyzhov in the auto shop to buy the car outside the shop for spare parts. He purchased and took the car from the shop in February.

According to the record of confrontation between Pervushin and Polyansky, Pervushin explained that he had not seen Polyansky’s license plate number.

Defendant Pervushin confirmed to the court that the smashed-up car that Polyansky left outside on the street, he purchased, and Bublik took had no license plate numbers.

According to the record of confrontation between Pervushin and Bublik, the latter told that he took from Pervushin a car without a license plate; Pervushin did not see a license plate, either.

Pervushin confirmed at trial that the car had no license plate.

According to the inspection report, the car was broken, dismantled, and had no license plate.

Witness Buzina testified that on March 10 she was in the Petrovs’ house, where she was providing veterinary care to their cat. Then she left with her husband, who had been waiting for her outside in his Zhiguli car. She didn’t notice anything suspicious outside or inside the house.

Witness Zorin confirmed his testimony after it was read out at trial. On the night of March 10, he arrived to Petrov’s home in his car, where he stayed approximately until half past eight. He was helping Petrov pump water through the heating system of the house. After that, he left. He didn’t notice any suspicious cars or persons on his way.

Witness Pligin testified that he worked in the firm founded by Petrov. The firm had no financial problems or connections with the criminal world. He had no idea about Petrov’s personal issues.

Witnesses Korovina and Kustov confirmed the facts that Pligin provided in his testimony above.

Witness Sidorchuk testified that he was acquainted with Porokhov. He also knew Petrov and explained at trial that he didn’t know anything about his murder.

Witness Khotkov testified that he had been guarding Porokhov from December until March 11 and then was transferred to other premises. On March 10, Porokhov had to be guarded by Dudin and Portnov, which Khotkov confirmed at trial.

Witness Zhogol testified that he worked at the Tron security agency and guarded Porokhov from March 7 to March 8. He could not testify on the merits because he did not know anything, which he confirmed at trial.

Witness Portnov testified that he was guarding Porokhov. On March 10, around 9 p. m., he, Porokhov, an employee of the Tron security agency, and Pervushin were driving through the city in the latter’s car. Then they drove to Porokhov’s home, where he stayed. Portnov confirmed his testimony in court.

Witness Dudin gave the same testimony as Portnov.

Witness El testified that he didn’t keep in touch with Petrov and only knows about the circumstances of his murder from his wife El, whose testimony is laid out above.

Witness Ivosyan testified that he had worked with Petrov but could not specify anything with regard to the murder. He believed it had no connection with Petrov’s business activities.

Witnesses Tatarinov and Sundukov testified both during the preliminary investigation and at trial that they both had borrowed money from Petrov for business activities but never had any conflicts. They did not know anything about the circumstances of the murder.

Witness Us, defendant Pervushin’s spouse, testified that Pervushin is engaged in criminal activities associated with returning vehicles to their owners for a fee. She denied those statements in court, saying she didn’t know anything on the case.

According to the crime scene inspection report of March 10, Petrov’s body with two gunshot wounds to the head and to the chest on the right, three 7.62 mm cartridges with pierced primers, and three corresponding shell casings were discovered in the courtyard. A 1952 TT pistol, which was fired, was found on the street next to the garage.

According to the ballistics test, the 1952 7.62 mm TT pistol is a rifled firearm, serviceable and suitable for firing 7.62 mm TT rounds.

According to the record of seizure, the clothing on the body of the deceased and a bullet found in the clothes were taken from medical examiner Hei.

According to the forensic medical report, Petrov died of three through-and-through gunshot wounds of the head, chest, and stomach with damage to internal organs and brain matter, attended by acute massive blood loss and destruction of brain matter. The wound on the
