Хотя многие исследователи, такие как Джервис, Снайдер и Дизинг, Верцбергер, Тетлок и Уайт, выявили ошибки в образе мышления национальных лидеров, эти знания пока не нашли практического применения[361]. Аналогично сделаны лишь первые шаги по изменению мышления членов враждующих этнических групп.
В конечном счете, нам приходится полагаться на имеющиеся в нашем распоряжении богатые ресурсы разума, чтобы распознавать и модифицировать иррациональные стороны человека. «Голос разума» необязательно будет тихим, если мы используем соответствующие методы для его усиления. Следует признать, что нашим собственным интересам лучше всего служит именно разум. Следуя этим путем, мы можем постараться обеспечить лучшую жизнь себе, окружающим и будущим детям во всем мире.
